Fender Squier JV Stratocaster SST-50This is a rare Fender Squier Stratocaster JV. It was built in December 1982 and is an SST-50 model. It is a Domestic Japanese 1957 style Stratocaster made at the FujiGen Gakki factory in Japan. The body is constructed from Alder timber, with a Maple neck. The body is finished in black with a thin polyester lacquer. The guitar has Japanese plain wire SQ- 5 Alnico pick-ups and a 3 way DM-30 pickup switch. It also has the JV serial number on the neck plate and the date of manufacture written by hand on the heel of the neck. I imported this guitar from Japan. It has a lovely maple neck, which has darkened in colour over time. The pickup covers and switch gear have also yellowed with age. This is common for Domestic Japanese guitars as the plastic used was different to the scratchplate (European / Canadian JV Export models used a more consistant use of plastic, so this was not so common). |
